Coke Studio Africa revamps Sethi’s ‘Pasoori’ with Nigerian Afrobeats and Egyptian rap

Pasoori by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill has gained a following in Africa after dominating charts and people's minds for months in Pakistan, India, and beyond. Coke Studio Africa, smitten with the groovy Punjabi song, made the decision to remix it while preserving Sethi's original lyrics. The remix has a combination of vocals and music from Nigeria and Egypt.

Since its premiere, Pasoori has been a global chart-topper, transcending borders, and one can only speculate where it'll go with this remix. The song was released on YouTube by Coke Studio Africa on Thursday.

He wrote, "Pasoori Afrobeats remix! I can't express how pleased my 'small tune' turned into 'a whole new song' has made me. I am beyond thrilled to watch this little tune of mine turn into a brand-new song. I want to thank everyone. Sethi continued by tagging all the musicians and creative teams who contributed to the creation of this brand-new, joyful song.

Since its first release on February 7, Pasoori has had over 330 million views on YouTube, and the song just keeps getting better. Additionally, it reached Ms. Marvel, the first Marvel programme to feature Pakistani characters. Pasoori, which is the 14th season of Coke Studio's sixth song, was composed by Sethi and Fazal Abbas.
